Summer Giveaway Winner and a Kitchen Up-date

Let's start with something pretty because things are going to go downhill when I show you how our kitchen is looking these days.

There, wasn't that beautiful - a butterfly visiting our butterfly bush.

Now on to the not-so-pretty, and in fact, down right messy.  You know the old saying - you have to crack an egg to make an omelette - well it sure seems like someone was in here cracking dozens of eggs.  Oh boy.

It's been this way all week and it's looking like it will take me another week before I"m done.  I'll need a holiday afterward, that's for sure.

I came up for air long enough to draw a winner for the summer giveaway.

Number 12 is NannyKim.  Congrats!  Please email me your address so I can send the plate to you.   Thanks to everyone for entering.

Now back to work and may I finish soon.

  1. Thanks so much! I emailed you my address, but I think I forgot to give you the zip code!! I will email you again. When I moved into this house I had to paint my cupboard doors--I know how it feels!

  5. Boy, what an undertaking! It's always hard to do a kitchen because it's the hub of the home. You know the old saying it has to get worse to get better. Your cabinet doors are looking great. I'm looking forward to seeing your finished room.

  7. What a lovely, clean 'mess' you have there. Being oak our doors don't need painting but I wish my cupboards were up to scrutiny like yours.
